A not too early start began a day of testing for the new Tonykart chassis - Kart 78.

A few jobs remained before testing started so after fixing the chain, sproket, front stub axle and airbox mounting we were ready to go. Well almost, it was still wet so wet tyres had to go on too.

First impressions are good, it drives very much like the other Tonykart, which we like, and stops too (a real bonus!)

A previously bent sproket, of the wrong size, was making life difficult and 3 thrown chains later the correct one (88) was bought and fitted. Lining up the front and rear sprokets is surprisingly difficult but once sorted the kart was back on track and driving beautifully. A dry line was emerging round the track so slicks were fitted.

The final hour then gave us some much needed time off "spannering" and a bit of fun. Cleaning the power valve cured some concerns about the engine not pulling and the day finished with a recommitted Luke and everyone with a smile on their face.

Now, next weeks race, we'll see if we can find a gap in the busy Hallard wedding attending schedule.....
