Beginning the fight back to the front.
After the disaster of the last race some serious garage time was in order. Paul and Toby donned the mechanics gloves and dusted off the tool set. Luke meanwhile disappeared to Barcelona to recover the "missing in action" brain cells left there by Paul and Toby the previous week.
A convoluted trip by Paul to get to the garage to pick up the Rotax log books (they won't release the engines without them), then back to Rye to get the engines and a new axle, then back to the garage led to a relatively late start. Fortunately, after cleaning off kart 24, the rebuilt engine fitted on without too much drama. Some deftly applied pressure also loosened the rear hubs which had seized preventing any chassis set-up to the rear.
A quick tidy up and that was all for the day as Toby was off to The Hives gig in Brixton. Kart 27 will have to wait until the return of its No1 mechanic for its new axle and engine.
